The venue is booked, you’ve found your dream dress, now what’s left? Photographers, stationery and everything else for your big day can be booked at The Scottish Wedding Show (19-20 October 2024), but one thing you’ll want to get planned as soon as possible is your hen party.

Whether you’re looking to toast your upcoming nuptials with a few close friends and family, or you want a showstopping soiree for the ages, a fun theme will help get everyone in the party spirit and is the perfect way to get excited for married life.

While we love the ‘last rodeo’ and ‘disco’ hens that have been taking over wedding-Tok all year, here are three alternative themes you can try for your 2025 party to give it a unique edge.

Mamma Mia, you’re getting married!

This theme is perfect if you’re a Dancing Queen, love ABBA, or spend your days dreaming of sun-soaked islands with beautiful beaches. Think ocean blue décor, Greek-inspired designs and vibrant pink flowers. Encourage your friends and family to don their best 70s attire and have fun with feather boas, sunglasses and disco balls. Disco continues to be a huge trend for the 2024/2025 wedding season, so this is a nice way to incorporate the décor into your hen party while doing something a bit different.

Lucky in love

Whether you’re travelling to Ireland for a fun-filled hen weekend, have Irish roots, or your hen party falls on St Patrick’s Day, a Lucky in Love celebration could be the perfect choice. Think shamrock accessories, lucky in love bunting, and an on-trend green and gold dress code. This is a really easy theme to pull off and wherever you go, you’ll be sure to find an Irish bar to welcome you as one of their own!

Diamond of the season

Regency style weddings have risen in popularity over the past few years thanks to the success of Bridgerton, and it’s a beautiful theme to tap into if you’re looking to create a feminine aesthetic for your hen party and be ‘the diamond of the season’. A lilac colour palette paired with lots of florals and tapered candles will give your venue of choice a Bridgerton look and feel, and you can ask your loved ones to wear their fanciest party dresses. Make up gift bags with gloves and tiaras for your guests and put on a Bridgerton playlist for a soiree Lady Whistledown herself would be envious of.
